Collector Falls in Love with Painting, But the Subject Has Too Much Hair
Updated: Apr 10, 2019
The collector loved this painting, because it reminded him when he and his wife were on their honeymoon, but, unlike the man in the painting, he is balding. I don't usually work back into a piece, but his connection to it inspired me. The key was making the modification seamless. To do so, I experimented with some new oil painting mediums; took a deep breath and went at the painting surface with the same passion that I exhibited in the original paintings mark-making. Luckily, it was a success. The risk/reward was high as the collector loved what I did to the piece. Interested in a commission, call or email me.
